Automatic Rinsing , Filling , Capping ( Water Filling Machine )

Empty PET bottles are loaded onto the infeed air conveyor either manually or automatically. High-pressure air from a blower propels the bottles, which are supported by their necks, toward the transfer rotor via the infeed air conveyor. This conveyor system is designed to handle different bottle sizes without requiring any adjustments, eliminating time lost on infeed side modifications. The air conveyor system is consistent across all PET bottle machines, including water filling, soft drink filling, juice filling, alcohol filling, and beer filling machines.

The PET bottles are transferred via the air conveyor through the transfer rotor to the rinse (washing) rotor, with each bottle supported by its neck during the transfer.

The automatic rinse rotor features spring-loaded grippers mounted radially, which pick up bottles one by one from the infeed transfer rotor. Each bottle is inverted against a lever on the rinse valve to initiate the rinsing process, ensuring a no bottle – no rinse operation. Bottles are rinsed for up to three seconds, then drained to remove residual water, and uprighted for transfer to the filling rotor. The rinsing medium is typically product water. The bottle washing system is the same across all PET bottle machines, including water, soft drink, juice, alcohol, and beer filling machines.

Filling machines use a rim at the top of the container to create an airtight seal around the filling nozzle. This seal generates a vacuum inside the bottle, drawing free-flowing liquid from the supply tank into the bottle through a specially designed nozzle. The internationally accepted and approved vent pipe filling principle ensures precise filling without spillage, with an accuracy of ±5 ml.

While water filling, soft drink, juice, alcohol, and beer filling machines share this principle, each machine features a different nozzle design and filling tank, with a distinct filling system. The fill tank level is automatically controlled by a PLC-based electronic probe, which adjusts according to the product supply input.

Soft drink, juice, alcohol, and beer tanks are equipped with a CIP (Clean-In-Place) system, which allows cleaning of containers, pipes, pumps, filters, and equipment without disassembly. The system uses high-temperature, high-concentration cleaning agents to sanitize the entire production line efficiently in food and beverage production.

After the filling operation, bottles are transferred to the capping rotor via the out-cap picking rotor. There are two capping methods: Capping Sout and Pickup Place.

For water filling machines, Capping Sout operates at 24–90 BPM, while Pickup Place operates at 120–250 BPM. The Pickup Place method is used for juices, soft drinks, alcohol, and beer. The capping heads are magnetic and spring-loaded to prevent over-tightening of the caps.

Caps are stored in a ground-level hopper mounted on a base with an elevator column. The caps are elevated, oriented, and guided into the cap chute, which feeds them to the filling machine. The cap elevator is linked to the cap suit, and its operation is automatically controlled by a sensor mounted on the control panel. The elevator stops automatically when the chute reaches full capacity and resumes operation as caps are consumed.

After completing the rinsing, filling, and capping cycle, bottles are released onto the outfeed slat conveyor. They undergo visual inspection against a fluorescent background light to detect any particles. A sensor counts the bottles, displaying the total number of finished bottles on the control panel.

The body sleeve is placed on the empty round bottle, which then passes through a heat-shrink tunnel. If a labeling machine is installed, the bottle is routed through its converter; otherwise, it goes directly to the shrink-wrap machine, which is present only in fully automatic plants.

The control panel is equipped with high-quality devices and a variable-speed AC drive to regulate operating speed during production. All electric motors are individually protected by thermal overload relays. The main MCB includes an inbuilt ELCB to provide protection against external live contact. Clearly marked cam switches indicate functions for ease of operation. The motor drive of the main machine is different from others. The electric panel carries the same warranty and guarantee as the manufacturer of its electrical components.
